Discover the leaders driving positive change and governance at SEBA.

I am a father of two sons and one daughter, and grandchildren. I work in the Tech field for the last 25+ years I'm a Solution Engineer for software companies and what I do is, fix their business problems in their corporate information systems and their business process, saving them time and money. I also run a nonprofit that does leadership building for high school students on a national scale, it's called SEBA, since 2010. I believe our future starts with our youth and the best way to affect the future. Before SEBA was a network organization here in Tucson, where I had 600 businesses.

I have volunteered over the years in a number of programs to help youth.  They have included endeavors such as mentoring, tutoring, and Attention Deficit Disorder.  I believe that all volunteer work is worthy and admirable, however, I get personal satisfaction when I can influence younger people and put them in a better place to help themselves in the future.  I believe that the greatest strength of the SEBA philosophy is to train contemporaries to be the solution.  It is one thing when a message is coming from adults, it is a much more potent and meaningful process when the solution, and in many cases godsend, is in the form of a peer.

I have 20 years of healthcare experience with a BA in disability studies and a doctorate in behavioral health. I'm passionate about empowering youth to control their own destiny and enabling them to carry the tools to design a successful future. I'm passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people and are committed to helping them reach their full potential. Youth leadership is inspiring for a variety of reasons. For one, young people often have fresh ideas and perspectives that can challenge traditional ways of thinking and lead to innovative solutions to problems. They also have the potential to be incredibly resilient and resourceful in the face of adversity, which can be inspiring to witness.

With a decent understanding of human behaviors coupled with my journalism, marketing and theatre backgrounds, I know a little bit about a lot. Communication is key in every relationship and not everyone understands just one method of communication. I think I could prove helpful by teaching young people how to communicate differently and effectively depending upon with whom they are attempting to communicate. I would love to affect positive change in young people so that they grow into compassionate, intelligent and productive thinkers and community leaders.

As a former Firefighter, Engineer, and Realtor I have seen many types of leaders, some great and others that were a little abrasive. I truly believe that if we can instill a sense of servant leadership in our youth, it will allow them to lead by example and build trust in those around them. "For the greatest among us has come to serve and not to be served"
